The Berlin State Women’s Council (Landesfrauenrat Berlin e.V.) is an umbrella organization representing women’s organizations in Berlin, encompassing a broad spectrum of professional and interest groups, as well as women’s groups affiliated with democratic political parties, churches, and trade unions within the State of Berlin.
The Council’s mission is to identify and address gender-specific inequalities at the state level and to actively work toward their elimination. It advocates for social, political, and structural conditions that enable girls and women to develop freely and to pursue their individual goals and interests.
Committed to fostering collaboration among women’s organizations in Berlin, the Berlin State Women’s Council serves as a platform for exchange, networking, information, and critical dialogue. Through this work, it strengthens collective engagement and amplifies diverse perspectives.
The Berlin State Women’s Council acts as the representative voice of women in Berlin vis-à-vis the House of Representatives, the state government, the Senate administrations, and other public and civil society institutions.
Guided by the conviction that diversity is a source of strength, the Council believes that collective action by women from different backgrounds can bring about lasting and meaningful change.
